Kasvu Open is a Finnish institution with a mission of making Finland the best environment for growth companies in the global scale. It unites the companies seeking to grow with top professionals of the business fields. The goal is to spar the entrepreneurs and key personnel to strengthen the mindset and develop skills needed in the growth process.
New Cable Corporation took part in the Kasvu Open program in 2019. During the growth path, the NCC team encountered interesting challenges from the part of growth professionals and were able to concretely develop the strategy for growth. The commitment and enthusiasm paid off and NCC was selected to participate in Kasvu Open finals as one of the 100 most growth oriented companies. The place in the finals is a significant opportunity as the favourite company of the investors secures a growth funding of 1M€.
The Kasvu Open season 2019 will culminate in Kasvu OpenCarnival, that is arranged 23 – 24th October in Jyväskylä. The event is loaded of inspiring program and the winners will be selected there.
6th Printocent Innofest was held in Oulu 6-7. June. Our team Flat and Flexible Gadget was there to have fun and compete for the most innovative, yet feasible solution with 20 other teams. We did not win, nor make it to finals. (but Innofest organizers were excited about our innovation)
We are too, since there is a real demand for a new, reusable standard solution for name and access badges used worldwide in conferences, shows, events, corporations, building sites etc. We will naturally not give you the technical specifics here and to be frank, there might actually be a need to think them through once or twice before going public with this innovation. Still – imagine this: No more trash from numerous single event use badges but one reusable badge with your own visitor profile. No more physical standing in line at the registration desk of events but smooth pre-registration to your own badge.
And if you happen to be an event organizer this will solve a time (and money) consuming problem for you. Imagine all the time that is consumed with making and distributing the badges, not to mention to supervise the access – you can save most of it with this innovation that combines reusable name badges to access control. If you are interested in this, contact our innovators directly email@example.com and we will tell you more.
The 6th annual InnoFest will be hosted by PrintoCent Community in Nallikari, Oulu in June 6-7. InnoFest is fun and innovative way launch of our summer season every year, but it also carries a special significance for our company.
New Cable Corporation was founded as a result of a innovative and exited InnoFest team. It was year 2015, the second year of InnoFest tradition to be, as the founders of New Cable Corporation, Tommi Rintala and Antti Backman came up with the idea of SFFC, Shielded Flat Flexible Cables. It may or may not have been a direct idea of the innovation competition but the atmosphere of novelty convinced our entrepreneurs about the potential of printed electronics. New Cable Corporation was founded as a direct result of this in early 2016.
During InnoFest 2018 New Cable Corporation was able to present its first customer deliveries and some positive funding news. A year has gone fast and the team has grown from 2 to 5 with Dr. Brigitte Lanz as CTO, Essi Silvonen as COO and Pierre DeBie as Account Manager. There are some implications for further positive news you will hear from us during the Innofest. See you at Nallikari June 6-7!
We are proud to announce, that New Cable Corporation is a member of OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics association), which is the leading international industry association for organic and printed electronics.
We joined OE-A late 2018 and presented to the OE-A meeting members in the annual meeting during LOPEC in March 2019. Still, we are in the early stages in our involvement and have just begun to realize all the benefits the membership provides.
As OE-A is representing the total value chain of the rapidly emerging technology of organic and printed electronics, it provides an unique platform for co-operation between companies and research institutes.
By now, we have had the chance to participate in important industry workshops, including aviation, which was very interesting and beneficial for our future development. During LOPEC conference in Munich we met several new potential partners and customers through OE-A network. As the first welcome gesture, OE-A presented us in their magazine (see picture).
We are looking forward of all the co-operation this membership will have in its cards for us.
Sustainability on all products and services is becoming the new normal. Businesses are increasingly waking up to realize the environmental impacts of their operations and encouraged to consider and design the life cycle of their products to meet the demands of circularity and sustainability.
We consider this a good start, but it is not enough. Our goal is to promote sustainable cables by finding durable cable materials that are either biodegradable or recyclable. This will, in the future, enable our customers to select truly sustainable solutions. We are currently joining a consortium that will research materials and processes for sustainable electronics and will bring our expertise in that with regards of cables.
Follow us on Twitter or LinkedIn and we will keep you updated on how our quest towards sustainable cables proceeds!
Its that time of the year again, that printed electronics people are getting ready to arrive at Munich Germany for the LOPEC conference and trade fair.
We are participating the startup pitching and poster session. To get the latest updates of New Cable Corporation and have fun, please join us! LOPEC is arranged from the 19th to 21st of March. For more information see https://www.lopec.com/
As the first days of the new year were approaching, I was asked what I saw as biggest trends of 2019. Here are two things which I think, and hope, will increase this new year:
Making small lifestyle changes
One could argue, that these are just the the same thing, with different words, but I slightly disagree.
Thinking green could be shortened into idea, that we stop to think what are the things we need and what are those we just want. This is not very original thought, and it is not my own. But in the sense of circular economy, I recycle the idea . If we know the difference of our needs and wants, maybe it is easier for us to accept that sometimes we need to let got of something, to create a better world.
Making small changes can contribute to a major change. I am not all that green in all my living choices, but I think it was echoing also in our christmas table. Traditionally finnish christmas celebration centerpiece has been the ham. Due to historical agriculture background, possibility of eating lot of meat in the darkest time of the year has been one of the key points in the party in the minds of finnish people. We have carried this tradition into our generation, as usually happens.
However, as I was now evaluating about our choices, I found out that we actually have changed our table contents into more ecological direction. We have already changed years earlier the ham to turkey, but again this year we had more vegetables than previous years. Oh, yes, we still have chocolate and other treats, but we have made some small changes, which actually cumulates towards bigger result.
Maybe the third trend, which I didn’t mention in the beginning is that we can, and we should, do choices which give positive effect to the local area. This can be seen as something simple as replacing bananas with local grown vegetables (bananas don’t grow that well in Finland) in mid-winter fiesta. But it also includes things like supporting the local service area economy (getting a massage nearby health spa).
I argue that these two main trends of 2019 are actually two sides of the same coin. The thinking green is setting up goals and making small lifestyle changes, is how we get there.
I think that year 2019 can be as good we wish to make it to be and even small changes count in global scale. Shared laughter is double the joy.
